The third season of the Titans is ready to air later this year and we hope that it stays on schedule regardless of the present Coronavirus scenario that has affected the world. While the precise date hasn’t been declared, fans of the show won’t have to wait beyond December for the show to make its return. The previous season aired on September 6, 2019, and finished on November 19, 2019. The first season started and ended at the same time, beginning in October of 2018 and ending in December 2018. We can count on season three to return around the same time.
The second season introduced us to some new characters, like Superboy and Krypto the super dog and gave extra attention to some of the characters we saw in season one, like Jason Todd and Donna Troy. The second season additionally introduced the fans to this universes version of Batman, or at least Batman but his public identity as Bruce Wayne. The caped crusader’s alter ego was played by veteran actor Iain Glen, who became famous for his Game of Thrones role as Ser Jorah Mormont.
It’s interesting to note that even though Iain Glen plays the role of Bruce Wayne, he doesn’t suit up as Batman, regardless of the Dark Knight making an appearance at the end of the first season.
During the first season, stunt doubles Alain Moussi and Maxim Savarias played the role of Batman. It was not till the trailer for the second season of Titans was Iain Glen revealed to be the character, with some fans confusing him for Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth.
Show director Boris Mojsovski confirmed on his Instagram that Iain Glen will be returning. Glen Walker, the showrunner for Titans mentioned that Bruce Wayne is taking the lead over Batman in the series as it’s a story that needs to be told.
“We see versions of Bruce that are in the conscious world and we see manifestations of Bruce that are, at times, not rooted in reality,” Walker explained. “People’s imaginations of Bruce take on their own form. Bruce is many things to many people. A limitation of the show is we can’t have Batman. So we try to turn that into a lot of possibilities of the kind of exploring of Bruce, and all the dimensions of Bruce.”
All this makes it seem that we won’t be getting to see much of Batman in the show but things can change.
