Jason Momoa reveals a new dark costume for the Aquaman sequel

Jason Momoa teases the Aquaman sequel will be way bigger than the original

Jason Momoa has sent his fans into a frenzy after he shared the first look of his new dark suit for the Aquaman sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Momoa shared photo of the new suit on social media while doing a comparison with his old suit from the first installment of Aquaman. With the new suit, Aquaman is ditching the orange and green, and it resembles the look of Superman’s suit from Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

“Second round. New suit. More action. #aquaman Aloha,” exclaimed Momoa on his Instagram, while sharing photos of his suit from the first film and his new, sleek suit for the sequel.

This will be the 4th super suit that Aquaman has borne in the DCEU. The dark color scheme of the latest suit is also reminiscent of his greatest foe and arch-nemesis, Black Manta.

Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is supposed to be the main villain of the Aquaman sequel, and reports suggest that he will “loom much larger” in the sequel. We last saw Manta in Aquaman’s end credit scene, where he was rescued by Dr. Stephen Shin (Randall Park) after being defeated by Arthur and Mera (Amber Heard).

It is expected that the sequel will explore the seventh and final kingdom of the deep. In the first movie, Orm (Patrick Wilson), who is Arthur’s half-brother united five of the kingdoms to earn the title of Ocean Master. The dwellers of the Trench were revealed to be the sixth kingdom.

The first Aquaman, which released in December 2018, had grossed more than $1 billion, which made it the only DC film other than Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy to enter the extremely special billion $ movie club.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will feature Jason Momoa as Aquaman and his co-stars include Abdul-Mateen II, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman and others.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will arrive in theaters on December 16, 2022.
