Game of Thrones star Kit Harington lives in the Grade II listed Tudor mansion with his wife and co-star Rosie Leslie. The £1.75m land boasts a swimming pool, stables, a tennis court, a pavilion, banqueting hall and croquet lawn. Now the couple has submitted plans for additional renovations since buying it last year after their marriage.
A design and access statement sent to the council insisted a new heating system needs to be installed, including a boiler, radiators and pipes and oil tanks in the garden.
It added: “Since their purchase at the end of last year the new owners, Mr and Mrs Harrington, have been undertaking internal redecoration and minor repairs as a first phase project. Appropriate repairs to address the previous unauthorized repairs and other works to the timber frame that will address issues of damp and the previous use of inappropriate materials.”
Kit – who played Jon Snow in Game of Thrones – bought the property and its eight acres of land with wife Rosie.
Gushing about his home in a BBC interview, Kit said: “I was looking all over for a place. I looked in many different areas of the country. I was actually looking in Norfolk and then I kept driving through Suffolk and thinking, ‘I really quite like this county’. So I found my own little spot in the county of Suffolk and I’m now a Suffolk boy. I love it. It is really special to me.”
The council is anticipated to make a decision on the application next month.
