The Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald final trailer is here. It’s effortlessly the darkest one yet. It contains some really fantastic surprises. Furthermore, it’s probably the best we’ve seen.
Claudia Kim’s character has been revealed and it’s a significant name in the Harry Potter universe. The South Korean on-screen character is playing Nagini — a human “Maledictus” who in the end moves toward becoming Lord Voldemort’s trusty snake and one of his final Horcrux. As we meet Nagini, she’s an individual from the voyaging Circus Arcanus where she fakes it for muggles.
In another reveal, glimpses of flashback showing Dumbledore and Grindelwald back while they were young students. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true, we currently will have a much more youthful Dumbledore! It’s a short shot in the trailer as they both touch the Mirror of Erised.
James Newton Howard, who also did the music for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, has delivered some of his best takes on classic Harry Potter themes. The riveting score is a violin frenzy on fan favourite Harry pooter score.
The trailer is loaded down with supernatural and magical action as characters plan to fight with the dark wizard Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) following his break from jail while being exchanged to Europe. Grindelwald starts to accumulate devotees utilizing both seductive knowledge and menacing power.
As a reflection to our partitioned times, Ministry Auror Theseus (Callum Turner) tells his brother Newt (Eddie Redmayne) in the trailer, “The time is coming where you will need to pick a side,” and Newt answers, “I don’t do sides.”
