Aquaman has been a massive hit for DC and Warner Bros. Having passed the $1 billion score at the global box office last year, Aquaman continues to be a new favourite for DC Comics fans, whilst also helping to project lead actors like Jason Momoa and Amber Heard to further fame.
An extremely noticeable factor in the movie from The Conjuring universe creator James Wan are the exceptionally detailed costumes on offer.
In an exclusive behind the scenes featurette for Mirror Online, costume designer Kym Barrett, along with both Momoa discussing what it was like to step into Atlantean clothes.
“It’s one of those rad moments, just him putting on the suit for the first time land walking through and you’re like awesome,” revealed Momoa.
He also spoke about how his children reacted to the reveal of him in the costume.
In the movie, Momoa portrays the courageous half-Atlantean and half-human member of the Justice League, Arthur Curry, who must claim his rightful position on the throne of Atlantis as Aquaman.
By Aquaman’s side is Mera (Heard), the fiery princess of the underwater kingdom of Xebel, who finds her loyalties of her father, King Nereus, tested. Both actors are expected to reprise their roles in the forthcoming sequel, but this will not be released until after the arrival of spin-off horror movie The Trench.
Aquaman is released on digital download on April 6, followed by 4K, Blu-ray and DVD release on April 8, 2019.
