Aquaman is still playing in select theaters and the film’s weekend haul will be just enough to beat Transformers: Dark of the Moon for the 20th spot on the list of highest-grossing movies of all time. A year ago, did you think a Jason Momoa-led Aquaman film would become WB’s most significant superhero franchise?
Thanks to an extended 3-day President’s Day weekend, Aquaman has taken in just enough at the domestic box office to go past the $1.12 billion earned by Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon for the 20th spot on the list of highest-grossing movies of all time.
In weeks past, the movie eclipsed the prior record of $1.085 billion set by The Dark Knight Rises as the highest grossing DC Comics adaptation of all time.
Below, you can look at this weekend’s top-grossing domestic movies.
