For close to a decade, Game of Thrones brought great entertainment to our TV screens and we sometimes lost ourselves in the lives of on-screen characters, trying to figure out their next moves. Likewise, we devoted ourselves to their love lives, to the extent that some of us don’t even remember that our favourite couples are not together in real life – all but one anyways.
Consequently, we at Popcultnews have made a list to show you some of your favourite Game Of Thrones stars, and their partners in real life. Read on and tell us which one of these couples you find most interesting.
1. Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Rose Leslie (Ygritte)
Everyone remembers the bittersweet relationship between Jon Snow, and wilding woman Ygritte. What most people don’t know is, they are also an off-screen pair. News of their relationship first surfaced in 2012, however they didn’t make their first official appearance as a couple till 2016.
In an interview, Kit revealed to reporters that his romance with Rose began while filming for GoT in Iceland. Kit and Rose tied the knot in 2018, and their relationship keeps on growing stronger by the day.
2. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and his wife, Erica Schmidt
One character that made Game of Thrones fun was funny and witty playboy, Tyrion Lannister. However, in sharp contrast to his on-screen character, Peter Dinklage is a family-man and is happily married to writer-cum-director, Erica Schmidt. They both have two beautiful children.
Remarkably, Peter and Erica have managed to keep their private lives under wraps. However, occasional Instagram posts from Peter show his family is having a great time.

“Erica is brilliant. She loves theatre. Unlike a lot of other people in our profession where film is the ultimate goal; theatre is sacred to her. It’s not entertainment; it’s art. She’s very inspiring. She’s definitely the artist of the family. I️ am just the TV actor who pays the bills.” – PD
3. Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) and his wife, Lisa Bonet
Big, strong and charming Khal Drogo was played by actor, Jason Momoa – real shame we didn’t get to see more of him. Jason, 40, married his long-time sweetheart, actress Lisa Bonet, 52 in 2017.
According to him, Jason first saw Lisa on TV as an eight-year old, and he subsequently declared to his mom that he would go after her for as long as he lived. That turned out quite well, didn’t it? Lisa only found out about this after they had two babies, and we hope she will be his Khaleesi forever.
4. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) and his wife, Nukaaka Coster-Waldau
Forever bachelor, and one of the main characters of the GoT series, Sir Jamie Lannister was excellently depicted by Danish actor, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Off-screen, however, Nikolaj shares his last name with actress, singer, and one-time ‘Miss Greenland’, Nukaaka Coster-Waldau. They have two adorable daughters, and the family enjoys a quiet life somewhere near Copenhagen.
Shockingly, Nukaaka hasn’t seen a single episode of Game of Thrones! But, not to worry, she has a deal with Jamie’s mother, in which they’ll sit down, and watch it all in one go.
5. Aidan Gillen (Petyr Baelish) and his girlfriend, Camille O’Sullivan
Cunning and smart Petyr Baelish, commonly known as ‘Littlefinger’ was portrayed by Irish actor, Aidan Gillen. He has an affinity for bad guy roles in movies, because, according to him, they are the most interesting ones.
Aiden never fails to give credit to his ex-wife together with his two kids for motivating him to succeed. He is currently in a relationship with Irish singer, Camille O’Sullivan, and they prefer to keep their private lives away from the prying eyes of the public.
6. Carice Van Houten (Melisandre) and her boyfriend, Guy Pearce
The enigmatic, and charming red-haired enchantress, Lady Melisandre was acted by popular Dutch singer and actress, Carice Van Houten. She is currently dating Australian actor, and musician. Guy Pearce, and they have a son together. Carice is averse to ‘Hollywood’ life; hence, the couple lead a relatively quiet life in Europe.
7. Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) and his wife, Aisling Loftus
Who would have thought the strong leader of the mighty unsullied smiles more in real life, and even loves singing? Actor, Jacob Anderson, who we all know as Grey Worm, is a man of many talents. He acts, sings, raps, writes songs, and is also a record producer.
Jacob married to English actress, and long-time girlfriend, Aisling Loftus in 2018. According to Jacob, he has never met someone who cares about people as much as his wife.
8. Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont) and his wife, Charlotte Emmerson
Jorah Mormont, sworn follower and defender of Daenerys, Mother of Dragons was acted by Scottish actor, Iain Glen. Iain has been married to British actress, Charlotte Emmerson and they have two daughters together.
9. Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and her husband, Joe Jonas
Sweet and naive Sansa Stark was played by 23-year old English actress, Sophie Turner, in what was her acting debut. Sophie married popular American singer, and actor Joe Jonas in 2019, after dating for less than a year. The couple had earlier made their intentions known by taking a serious decision to jointly adopt a husky puppy in 2017. Trust us, this is no small deal.
10. Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and her boyfriend, Ollie Jackson
Like her on-screen sister, and best friend, Sophie Turner, Maisie made her acting debut as Arya Stark on Game of Thrones. She is currently in a relationship with model, Reuben Selby, and their relationship is fairly low-key.
